Yes, but I am kinda embarrassed by it as it is not very tidy.

Are you sure? On Thursday, it was 60's here so I went out and cleaned the bed of the old growth that I leave for insulation. When I removed the dead leaves, I saw that on all but one of them, I have the purple shoots just starting to poke out of the ground. If I have new growth starting, I would bet that yours do also.

You know, when I bought this house 3 years ago, I didn't care for them and actually thought about digging them up. I didn't know ANYTHING about them. After telling people I was going to dig them up, I got HORRIBLY YELLED AT!! I was told that those are very valueable and people would pay huge amounts of money to have a hosta garden like that. SUre enough, after living there the first Spring, I had walkers (there are about 30-40 people that walk my neighborhood. It's constant foot traffic in fornt of my house) stopping and telling me how much they loved the Hosta bed. My biggest problem is that they are planted in direct June & July sun, so they fry very easy. Here is a pic taken on July 29th of last year. Notice the fried Hosta and yard grass.
