Dave...there you go!
Just like the rest of us...a camera in one hand, a trowel in the other!
Great pictures. Great success.
Do you start seeds in your house? a greenhouse? how long have you been at it? do you keep some to any size?
Did those roots REALLY fit into styro coffee cups?
...I've got lots of questions...
Tell us more.
Damn, why is IOWA so far away.

hey dave. welcome. great looking seedlings you got there. Youy probably already know this , but you don't want to stick your tongue on anything metal when it -6F. Winter has been rough for most everybody in the midwest this year. I am in a suburb south of Kansas City Missouri. Won't be too long before spring will be here. You'll be planting those seedlings outside. Good Luck.

Dave, still wondering about the size of your styro cups.
I've been digging around in the shed looking for "palm seedling pots"
Found this which, if cut at about 20 inch lengths and several taped together in a box to keep them from falling over, might do.

Seems the 7-11 store doesn't want to sell me any more of their Double Gulps.
Might have to tour some other convenience stores, hat in hand...

More seedlings...
Today its melting here (after 3 more inches last night). Spring is coming...
Here are some images of a few Zamia floridana seedlings I potted up.

Zamia floridana community pot

Zamia floridana bareroot seedlings

Zamia floridana liners
For these seedlings, I used the Stuewe MT38 liners available here. http://www.stuewe.com/products/minitreepots.html
More to follow in a few days.

L. saribus
Barb:
Steve's the germination man! However... I'm not above copying some of his techniques...
Here's some more pics of seedlings being potted up. This time Livistona saribus. I bought 100 seeds, and I think every one of them germinated for me last year.
