ID a palm for me

I went to a nursery today and I saw they have a palm that I might want. But all she told me was that it was a "Fan Tail Palm".
The tree had multiple trunks and they look exactly like the trunks of my Pygmy Date Palm. With the multiple trunks and hair like brown fibers.
The shoots looked like the shoots of a Cat palm.
The shoots then have fans that are really big in size. About 1' to 1 1/2' with the spikes of the fan barley coming out. Basically the fans (fronds) looked like plates with about 2" spikes coming off the top.

Kansas without a photo it would be pure guessing as to what species it is. Here is a site with lots of photos of palms .Maybe you could match your palm to one of the photos.

Couldn't find it there.
It was planted in a pot with multiple trunks and after closer look had many thorns on the fronds.
The leave is HUGE and most are "inverted" due to size.
It almost looks like a Washingtonia, but do they plant these in pots w/ multiples? And do Washys have thorns?

Naw, not really.
The leave is like a plate with the spikes on the top of the leave only sticking out about an inch. Almost like a midgets hand But the leave is huge. About the size of a dinner plate.
I may just buy it so I can take a pic.

Kansas I think I found that Licuala palm species you were describing I definitely would buy it as it is very rare and so much different than other fan palms .I tried sending an e mail but their was some malfunction.
