I have had decent success with my adonidia palms inside for winter. seems like the smaller ones adapt better to being indoors. once they reach a certain size ( maybe 5-6 feet tall) they are harder to care for and need more sunlight. best of luck to you and your adonidias.

my protected stuff looks pretty boring right now. My stuff at home has been covered since about the middle of December. I also have a few in ground palms at our lake house, which is about 2.5 hours south, a little safer zone 6. I am heading down there early next week to cover those palms for the win...

that trunk is getting fat so he/she must eating the soil. maybe you should try some low calorie soil, made with vegetable compost. my cidp does the same thing. Barb - not sure when I will separate. Probably will have to do something soon as they are pretty close together.

John - yes , just using leaf mulch in a protected enclosure. I have this thread which shows how I protect my palms.
