Is anyone else worried about this next winter? After all its showing the same signs as last year symptoms or stupid amount of rain (in the east) Cooler temps in the summer. Which in Indiana normally bone dry and Hot and humidity up to freaking 90%. Making the Temps at least 90 degrees. (32 C for metric users) And My palms still haven't Really Fully Recovers yet. Which is supreseing for me that my Baby Pindo palm lived thought this last winter ok. Am debating on Starting the Progress of Protecting my garden on the week of Halloween. Does anyone think am Paranoia now or are these Justifiable reasons to be worried.

Past winter was a real reality check....but for those of us that over winter palms either in the ground or in buildings other than our homes it also showed many of us what palms could take as well as if our protection was strong enough to endure the "coldest winter in 30 years" As much as I hate snow, that would have helped greatly where I'm at (Omaha, NE) only really had two "dustings" of snow.

I've been a little paranoid about that too. We've been abot 5-10 degrees below average this summer so if that trend continues we should see highs generally between 25 and 30 degrees F. Which would actually be good compared to last year.

I can't let myself worry anymore...If it's gonna suck, it's gonna suck and we can't do a damned thing about it!

My problem is I work so much now and the only time I get is to work on my garden is on the weekend now because of school which is 8:40 to 2:30 and then 3:00PM to 10:00 is when I work. This worrys me because you Never know what the Midwest will throw at you. last year it just Randomly showed up. By the way what month is a good time to remove seeds if you plan to use them?

All early future cast predict a terrible winter here on the east coast. Most of my palms are still with only 3 or 4 short fronds. Which will make them much easier to protect, but I also realize they are still damaged from lack of protection last year.
