Dear Experts, I have a yucca plant which is supposed to be filamentosa. It has filaments but a habitus reminds the recurvifolia. Since I've never seen a true filamentosa I have some doubts regarding this one. Please confirm:

Looks like a filamentosa to me, but I'm no expert.

You've never seen a true filamentosa, Igor?
They're as thick as bugs on a bumper out here.

I never saw a yucca OTHER than filamentosa until I "met" all you folks on PN.

I agree with you Igor............that Yucca could have some recurvifolia genes in it.........if it trunks we'll know it's not a filamentosa. If it blooms try to pollenate the flowers so we can see the seed pod. If it's hanging........it's not a filamentosa.

There's plenty of similar looking yuccas here. One can be sure: they're very tough and cold hardy

Hi Igor,

nice blooming Yucca........sure looks like a Y. recurvifolia/gloriosa type. Try to pollenate it so we can see the seed pods. 8)

Looks like my gloriosa/recurvifolia complex. They're very hardy here.
