A grocery store here has small ones for $13.99. Home Depot n Lowe's Home Improvement also carry. I can grow it potted outside here from April till January. Then needs to be inside. I understand they grow 20ft tall. How well do they do inside or will it die off after a year?
Thank!

They don't typically like inside conditions for a variety of reasons, but I have a customer here in Omaha that owns a tire store and he brought back a cocoanut from vacation years ago planted it in a 1/2 wood barrel 1/2 filled with soil/sand and it's on wheels so he can roll it outside during the day, inside at night and during the winter.
This palm is now about 7/8 feet tall! It always gets morning sun since his store faces the East with huge windows. During the winter it looks a bit ratty but not bad. Inside the store it's cool during the winter, especially by the windows where it sits not to mention the dry air.
This might be the exception....and not the rule as most should be considered a annual. At least they are cheap to buy to try with.
