Yucca aloifolia, which form is more true?

Post by seedscanada » Mon Jul 02, 2012 12:24 pm

Yucca aloifolia: on left, from recent seed planting, juicy crisp thick leaves, one on right from seeds 2 years ago... floppier and more flexible Which is a truer aloifolia?

Hi Adam,

the one of the left could be the real aloifolia. The one on the right is not aloifolia unless grown with no light!

My seed grown aloifolias have shorter leaves than your 'left' specimen but appear the same. I'll try to take a photo of mine.

PS, I may have some 2 or 3 year old seed if interested. This seed was collected by Don C. of N.C..........which is a nice northern ecotype.
