Heterospathe elata (Sagisi Palm) seedlings

Post by Dean W. » Fri Nov 16, 2007 2:45 pm

Palms courtesy of Knnn (Steve)... their not looking so hot, light green w/ some burn't edges to the leaves. Maybe not enough humidity in indoor conditions. Anyone care to help?

Dean, How are yours doing? If it's any consolation , these do seem to outgrow this eventually.

Here's one starting with some color 8)

There doing better Steve! Here's some pictures. I was wondering about the coloration of the new fronds! Now looking at your pictures I see it's natural. 8)

Dean, If I remember this Spring, I will send you some of mine that I got seeds from Robert Chumley.
He sent me about 75 seeds and I think all of them popped. I have them in this community pot....

FYI, these are rainforest palms and they LOVE LOVE wet feet.
In addition to these in the community pot, I have about 10 individually potted up.

Dean, mine are still...well...seeds :? but I'll wait longer.
Reference to wet feet. Was that for decaryi? or the Heterospathe e. ?
