Here's some pics of Gold Field Nevada from about three years ago. This place is so cool. I have been through
here about three times now and always stop to check all the old buildings out.
There's some great history about the Hotel that never opened or opened for a short time then closed?
Anyways here's some pictures.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

How very cool, Aaron.
Why didn't the hotel open?
Looks like they invested a ton of money to build it...mining price collapse? highway diversion?
I bet Hollywood does films there!

You have to see it Aaron. It's very cool.
I believe the gold mining boom went bust when they planned on opening.

Sorry Jay
Probably good that it's off the beaten track.
If that were in Canada, it would've been vandalized or become home for transients.

That's ok Barb.
Yeah, It's nice to go through there and be able to walk around and see it
the way it was without being vandalized etc.

Very cool Jay. I was in Virginia city NV.a few years ago. Not near as uncomercialized as your pics of this ghost town. We have quite a few of our own ghost towns here in B.C. It`s either boom or bust.Great pics. Thanks for posting them. Here is a show I think your familiar with. The top 4 selections are from our neck of the woods.

Thanks John, That was one of my favorite shows to watch when I came home from school many years ago.
I probably shouldn't say Gold Field is a complete ghost town because there are still some folks who live there.
Still a pretty neat place to see.

I hope they can do something with the hotel one day. Sad to see such an awesome building go to waste.

looks like the gost hunters on the travel channel are going back to that hotel for a show.

Should be fun to watch.
