My S. Minor McCurtain has scale. Does anyone have any tips for getting rid of it?

You can use coffee, water them with it
half strength or less and spray it on the scale.

I recommend an imidacloprid drench.

Nice I'll have to try that, my sago doesn't have scale but it doesn't seem to want to grow this year either.

I don't know if it would be good for it to
flush now....if you want to force a Cycad
you can use a high N fert that doesn't have weed
killer of anything like that...it really works.
I have used lawn fert in the past to force my Sago.
I think it was like 29-0-1 or something.

Definitely gonna try the coffee grounds. But, I would have to recommend a strong insecticide with the ingredient Steve mentioned in it like Bayer.

Used coffee ground for sure to mix in the soil around the trunk. Go to Starbucks, they give to you for free. I had scale on my Palmetto and got rid of it with a gallon of warm water, mixed with a tea spoon of baking soda, and a tea spoon of sink detergent. Mix it together and lightly apply with a soft brush and comes right off. Voila!
