Beny,

I got a dusting as well but I hope to loose the boxes on the plants next Saturday. I still have about 18"-24" of snow on the ground It'll be nice to have the boxes off so I can enjoy everything for another season...

Americanas do tend to grow quickly and can out grow the damage in a year. Pretty hard to grow out of being nearly ate to the ground some of the plant are just barely existing :( I'll dig them out of the main part of the garden. I even use softened water. I'm most things look fine. But I'm unsure if maybe my Washy and Pygmy Date hate soft water or if its a case of over/under watering. Only about 6 weeks until they are outside and hopefully thriving...

I shovelled a spot on the deck, grabbed a beer and enjoyed the 5 degree weather I had today... Trimmed a few burnt fronds from my chamaerops humilis it looks so good now it was a bit too bushy before but I didn't have the heart to trim off perfectly healthy fronds. No I can see some trunk.

Maybe you need more insulation I think all my plants came to $250 for last 2 months That's 125 c9 lights on thermocubes in a bad 5B winter I had 16 enclosures to protect a 10' an 8' 2x4' and 12 Rose cones... Looks like about 10-15 more days and I'm home free every thing comes off and stays off...

Most of the cacti will need to come inside most of them aren't at all hardy (Z9/10) stuff. Looking for Eastern Prickly pear and more hardy stuff then I will certainly use some tricks learned here to keep them alive in the ground.
