O/T Pineapple's progress

Almost the size of the store bought ones now...this plant produced an off shoot bigger than it,has another shoot on the side and of course a new plant on the P-apple itself. I would guess that next year the off shoot will be fruiting... I think the real key is making sure it gets pollinated outside ...

much easier to take winter!

I would like to use covers like that but it so dang
cold at night sometimes...maybe if I do this again
I can get a little more dialed in on the leaf hardiness
and do something like that..nice.

Looks great...I like enclosures where you can
still see the palms,very cool.

How do they hold up to the wind?
We had 45mph winds out of the west
here that nearly worked the plastic off the cactus enclosure.

My thinking is that it is tough to move a larger palm and have it recover in time for winter,I would need to dig them up and pot them for a year and hope they make it....since I enjoy watching them grow up,this is not a good plan to me,however I did cover some palms and dug some up also so...just ha...

I was not planning on covering anything this
year as I may be moving but I did cover some
stuff yesterday in 12F temps,we'll see if it was enough.

For sure,they were a lot bigger last year with the same
treatment so definitely in decline if the leaves are not saved this year.
