Sabal Minor

It is so frustrating to me that we here in Vancouver cannot get a sabal minor. No one carries them in stock. If you want a trachy there are millions of them but no needles or sabals. They would easily make it here without protection. I tried to convince some nurseries to bring them in but they won't...

Frozen Ground

Yes trachy roots can freeze causing permanent damage to the palm. Barb, Vancouver has only seen one day that was at -8C November 2010, in the last two years and that was during the very early part of the morning and then it did go just above freezing during the day. The ground did freeze but just on...

Hi John. No it was Harris Nursery on Harris Road I believe. South Delta BC. Thanks Barb I leave Friday morning. Pretty excited. Not sure if Harris Nursery has a mail order program or not. Thanks. Glad to be back. I have spent the last year totally renovating my house including the yard. My yard is full of trachies now. I found a nursery in South Delta that was selling trachies for $29.99 each with about 18 to 24" trunks and nice large fronds that made the palm about 4 - 5 ' tall...

I agree with Barrie, armata brahea is much hardier. You could also try to get a chamaerops humilis ceferia (SP?) which is hardier than brahea armata.

it is 10-5-8 with Magnesium, Iron and Sulfur. It is all natural ingredients. I also use the palm tree spikes from Charlie.
The palms I haven't used it on are yellowish, the palms I have used it on are a deep green colour and produce more fronds.
