Heats back

Post by macario » Mon May 14, 2007 11:57 am

Man the heat was here 2 weeks ago it was hot everyday but it cooled down last week. Now today things are hot again. This is weather that my Butia loves and Trachys hate. The Cactus are up to 107 F in the sun. We havent had rain in a long time. I guess have to leave the sprinklers on all night.

Trachys hate heat? oh oh. Mine is planted on the south side of the building...cooker...
It's hotter than Haiti there.

Hey macario, have you posted all your "planted" pics somewhere (maybe I missed it).
I'm still waiting to see that 900 pound palm planted in the ground...
Nice pics today.

We have got the heat as well, until tomorrow that is. It is supposed to go below freezing for the long weekend and rain every day.

But it will be cool enough for the stucco to set up nicely and my microclimates should keep the stucco above 5 C.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Below freezing, Allen? Man, that sucks! Will it never end this year? :(
I'm convinced plants like cool nights, seem to do better (but not freezing obviously).
We've had a nice heatwave in the Okanagan, ending Friday apparently.

Rain is virtually non-existant this year...strange. Last spring we got tons of rain.
Enjoy the rain, it may be the last until Fall.
