Spirea and Quince in bloom

Post by lucky1 » Fri May 04, 2007 11:25 am

I've lost the name of the Japanese Spirea, but the quince is Chaenomeles speciosa rubra (Red Japanese Quince)

Yours looks different, Don.

Trying to remember the name (brain fart :? thought it was Bachelor Button but that's not it)
Mine grows blue flowers, quite pretty, self-seeds but not really invasive.

I'll take a pic when they're in flower.

It's on the tip of my tongue... :? but there's a detour to the brain.
When I think of it, let you know.

Nope, my plant's leaves are about 6 inches long (max).
Here's a pic of the flower bud, which'll soon open to a medium blue star-like flower.
Yours looks similar, though.

I'm going to get a whack of plant tags...can't rely on my memory anymore.
