Figs at connon nurseries. Figs worth a try?

Post by yuccaman » Wed Apr 18, 2007 4:40 pm

I found some hardy figs at connon nurseries.

They were rated zone 7 and said zone 5b with protection.
I have seen figs grow here from the ground but they are
large and old and taken cold for a long time.

Is it worth a try for me?

They should be able to grow fine where you live w/ protection. Place a black cover over them. (make sure its not clear - will burn)

Well, it should be worth a try.

At connon they were not selling them as house plants.
They were outside with the other trees and they
were healthy as the other trees to.

Thanks it should be worth a try :D

We have many cold and stormy days but it should work
with protection.

They were:Ficus Carica Kadota
