Nice to see someone else growing the "Palatka Giant" variant.
Most of my C.revoluta are just starting to flush, if we can just get some warmer weather now

Here are a few more pics of my cycads...
Cycas siamensis 'Thai Silver Form' (if you look close at the base of the leaf you can see this plant is starting to push a second leaf)<br>

Great pics of great plants, Dave.
Just a question...on the encephalartos...did you cut the other leaves off?
I don't have one of those so I was just wondering.

The trispinosus received some frost damage this winter and those leaves were cut off. All seems well this spring, though!

Thanks! I guess the hunt is part of the fun. You seem remarkably successful at these guys! I have only been growing them for a year and a half, so the jury is still out... I've enjoyed reading your posts in this forum.
Here's an Encephalartos paucidentatus that I've grown from seed just pushing its first leaf. The petiole is about 5mm in diameter - these things don't start out with tiny stems like the cycas and dioons do!<br>

How exciting when a first leaf comes up...no dinosaurs to munch on them!
