Welcome to the forum Kyle. :D

What kind of palms and subtropicals are you growing? I think on the lower mainland around mid March you should be safe? Maybe someone else from Van would know.

Jay

Hey Kyle,
Welcome!
I agree with Jay, by mid March you are fairly safe in Vancouver. I have unwrapped everything now but I am ready in case it does drop with already made up protection such as old comforters. It hasn't been cold since the beginning of January when we had our cold stretch. The temps are nice and warm during the day but it does cool off at night. I have had only one day of rain in February!
You are out in the valley right? You do get a bit colder at night than me so I would wait until mid March.
Cheers

I'm in south Van.. block west from Languara College. There is a house just a block or two away that has a beautiful banana tree tucked in the corner of their yard. its still wrapped. On the other side of Que St. block from Main, another house has a huge t.fortunei in their front yard that has done beautifully this winter without protection.
