Kelowna Greenhouse

A while back someone from Kelowna was mentioning that one of the greenhouses were going to bring in some palms next spring.
My wife and I may be coming to Kelowna in April and would like to find out what the green house will have available for palms, yucca and cacti.
Could some one give me his name and address/ phone number.
Thanks
Allen

Hi Allen,
Here's the info:
Kelowna Flower Farm
3683b Berard Rd
Phone: (250) 762-0434
The owners name is Barrie. Super nice guy. I know John (okanagan desert palms) has purchased some palms from him. He usually brings in a semi truck load of palms every spring. I actually just delivered a pallet of small Musa Basjoos last Friday to him. He told me he is going to bring in some yuccas (rostratas etc.) this year and he's going to try to get some cacti. He showed me all the palms he is overwintering in one of the greenhouses. It was like being in palm heaven.

I'm not sure exactly when he's bringing them in. I usually start delivering some of his plants starting in April.
Regards,
Jay

Unfortunately the Flower Farm hasn't responded to my email and phone messages. I am running out of time to make the hotel room reservations in the Kelowna area so that my wife can see the Okanagan and I can get my palms etc..
Can anyone suggest another nursery that sells palms and yuccas in the Okanagan or further west as far as Chilliwack.
Thanks in advance for your help
Allen

You within an hour of North Vancouver when you are in Chilliwack. Here in North van, there is a nursery called Maple leaf. They have tons of CIDP, Trachies, butia capitata, chamaerops humilis, yuccas et all. It will be worth the trip. They also have a nursery in West Vancouver. I live right by that one.

Allen, If you have a chance go to the Maple leaf nursery like Wes said. They have a great selection. I was at the one in North Van last summer and picked up a Yucca elata and a Rostrata. They also had tons of palms there. If you want I can ask Barrie the owner at the Kelowna flower farm some questions for you the next time I do a delivery there. Just let me know.

Jay

Thanks Jay. When you see him please check if he has any of the following.
I am looking for 1 Sabal minor; 1 Sabal louisiana; 1 Trachycarpus wagnerianus; 1 Nannorrhops Ritchiana-- all 3 -5 gal
Also 1 Yucca bacata and 1 yucca rostrata, (size not that important) for me plus 3 different Yuccas with about 1 foot of trunk from the following for Nate--- rostrata, thompsonia, faxoniana, elata and brevifolia---
I had also asked about 2 Phyllostachys nuda bamboo if he could get them and a Musa basjoo. Recently I have become interested in Musa velutina and Musa x Helen's hybrid as well as Agave Parryi and Agave toumeyana v. bella.
I had originally planned to take advantage of a time share sales program to pay for our stay in Kelowna March 23 to 25/07. That is the last date that my wife's days off and the time share program coincide. This would allow my wife to see some of the Okanagan and me to get my palms. If that doesn't work out, we will do something.
I wanted to at least get the 2 sabals and the nannorrhops this year. I also wanted to get the bamboo and some of the yuccas that Nate wants.
We wanted to go to Vancouver/Victoria in the next 2 years but had planned on flying in.
