Starting to protect some palms, the less hardy !

This year, i will try to wrap queen palm. But we ve had a low of -6c 2 weeks ago , so it now have few burns tips on the leaves.

Salut Ben!, I think the Queens are hardier than most may think. If it's a mild Winter like they are saying, you may be able to succeed. I'm looking forward to your progress, you have great techniques.

Wow, still having 1 Trachycarpus without protection
...never seen that before. We still are over 10-20 F above average temp. here near Montreal. The forecaster said the temp. will reach 16c or 60 F on Thursday Christmas eve
. The normal temp in the day is -3c or near 24F.

Thx Andym, yes, there s a few people who grow palms here, but me and coconutmike are the only one who sale and offer the winterizing service in Quebec. Many people protect themselve their palms after i sold them the winter protection kit. For me, i count at least 40-50 palms around Montreal i planted since 5 years. And the majority looks fine despite the cold winter we had last year
...This year its another history, well above average temp. will be the warmest december never measured
