Drying out Pindo spear and browning fronds

Post by 905palms » Mon May 04, 2015 1:47 pm

Unsure what's happening here...
3 rd winter in ground, looked great until I applied some fertilizer...
Maybe overwatered as well.
I guess I'll let it ride out... Spear is green and solid, but I'm sure it will decline.
Any similar experiences? My sabal is doing the same... :-(

I had a couple needle palms do that this year. It was their first year in the ground so I covered them. Later after I uncovered them they declined. I assume it is sunburn because their spears are still solid.

Yeah, I can relate, my needles are doing the same, but pushing out nice green spears... so it's definitely growing. I will let the other push out. I just have to be patient....
