Caesalpinia pulcherrima Pride of Barbados

So the seeds of this plant must of become mixed into some soil I reused when I up-potted my Trachy three years ago.
Last summer I noticed the POB growing just about six inches from my T fortunei. Never did I expect it to survive unheated through our winter with zero stem dieback. All that covered it was an insulated box. Here it is Aug 28 2013:
