Went Thursday to Coles grimsby

Coles florist in Grimsby Ontario... A member on another forum was wondering about their ground planted Yucca gloriosa variegata.
They rebuilt their entrance and removed their mature yucca elata and gloriosa variegata. Their gloriosa had gone into a bit of a slump after flowering in late fall of 2011. I wouldn't be surprised if they hadn't tossed it with their build. I asked if they'd be saving their elata. They were not certain at that time, five weeks ago, if they would replant it elsewhere on the property or pot up and sell it.
I went to coles today and they sold their yucca elata. Still sitting around were the sorry-looking g-vars and a huge Cholla and some pencil cactus. They may still use in their new beds.
The good news...
I was able to get two 3 gallon trachycarpus fortunei for ten bucks each. They'll need a little love but will survive. Amazing what deals you can get when you offer to take a headache off of peoples' hands. It was a deal for some ragged plants. Both severely burnt and one spear pulled but I have faith.
