Well my curiosity got the best of me over the weekend,so with the sun out and temps. only in the 20's I cut a small hole and snapped a few shots. So far I'm pleasantly surprised. No huge moisture build up and only a few brown spots on the fronds. Thanks for looking.....

Looking good, once they get started you will forget about winter.

Thanks Barb!, I think the mini heater with the fan helped circulate the air inside keeping the moisture down.
I'm not going to take any chances on taking down the enclosure until at least the second week in April.

Yes, that mini heater/fan is a good idea.
I had lots of "warm airspace" in my enclosures last year and they came out of winter looking very good.
This year the leaf-filled bags shifted and almost caved in on the palm, completely eliminating air movement from the lights/heat.

You're wise to not remove the structure yet.
You can open them up on mild days.

I'm now using only clear plastic on both protections, secured with tape.
On a sunny day like yesterday, I open up the front panel to let them breathe.
Then tape it closed again.
Sure is good to see them again, despite mine having near-fatal winter wounds.

Yes I saw your other post with the leave bag problems but thankfully you caught it in time to save them.
Nothing worse than a huge moister build up and stagnent air to go with it.

All my greenhouse palms still look great, some nights it gets down in the 20's F in there and they come through with flying colors. I plan on planting a few more this spring in the ground and protecting them the same way. Just can't run up the electric bill to high

I see lots of Green! It should be great in spring as long as the power doesn't go out! My lost 35 hours will likely make my Washy dead or very brown.............only time will tell.

Yep I do save alot of things inside here too. My basement at home has bananas under grow lights, plus I keep some taller bananas,brugmansias,elephant ears in my shop here

After comments like those I don't ever want to move any further north than I am right now..It would take a tornado to kill power here. it hasent been cold enough to need that heavy of protection either. good luck it seems to have come through without a problem.

I may try a hybrid out this year am trying to decide the California fan palm or the California fan palm hybrid.

Looks good-you probably don't need the lights and space heater together.

Looks like the lights have burned the leaves in some cases-the other burns may be
from the leaves being to close to the plastic or from before it was covered....
is the space heater hooked up to a thermostat or thermocube?

Most of the burn happened before I got it covered in early December,and some bulb burns.
I have it set on a thermocube,the only thing the lights did was letting me know it was working.
I learned my lesson on waiting to long to get things protected,those nights in the 20's can do alot of damage around here.

Gets to be even more fun to cover as they get bigger-not looking forward
to covering these palms next fall but....almost time to enjoy the summer-
