Posted by a friend on another website. This is one of the guys who has been growing palms unprotected for 10+ years in Ontario!

Great story, Paul.

That Arizona cypress is stunning.
I'm surprised the fellow doesn't have a Trachy or two.

Too bad they didn't picture the Needle palms.

How the guy must love his life...Manager at a nursery/greenhouse and can go home to THAT... :D

This forum needs a 'LIKE' button, like in facebook. I don't have always something to say, but I'd like to acknowledge when I like something: and this article is great.

Did you notice the Cylindropuntia in the foreground? The thing is something like 8' tall and was cut back a couple years ago!

He does (did?) have a couple decent sized Trachies which he burlaps for the winter. He also has a magnificent Cunninghamia, the best I've seen here (30' tall maybe?), a huge Albizia, several trunking Yuccas, etc. etc. Pretty impressive really.

It says that Niagara is a zone 6a, but it's really averaged in zone 7 for the past 20+ years.
