But this one needs an ID....at first glance I thought it was an agave
Anybody know what this first pic is?

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/southslope/8289464904/" title="albatross 035 by edible_plum, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8209/8289 ... 9881_c.jpg" width="450" height="800" alt="albatross 035"></a>

And a few more we all know:

I think the following is Hyophorbe verschaffeltii, the spindle palm:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/southslope/8288402963/" title="albatross 025 by edible_plum, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8352/8288 ... 861d_c.jpg" width="450" height="800" alt="albatross 025"></a>

These Sagos must be old:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/southslope/8288407097/" title="albatross 018 by edible_plum, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8223/8288 ... e2c0_c.jpg" width="451" height="800" alt="albatross 018"></a>

Think this is Papaya?

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/southslope/8289463316/" title="albatross 037 by edible_plum, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8211/8289 ... 648b_c.jpg" width="450" height="800" alt="albatross 037"></a>

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Thanks Aaron, that Agave is either just finished blooming or will bloom soon?
Wonder what color its blossom is; must be spectacular at that size.

..forgot this one:
My friend says she likes these palm trees best:

Great pictures! I don't know what I would do if I lived somewhere where I could grow pretty much any tropical plant I wanted! After growing my own private jungle, maybe I'd have to try growing plants native to the pacific northwest just so I would still get the satisfaction of growing things that don't belong in the climate.

This pic from other friends, who are in Mexico with their RV.
(yup, you guessed it, no friends remain in town here)
They sure got into the Christmas spirit...

Then you'd be trying to grow Cyrtostachys...

Great pics barb. Now I'm jealous!! It's definitely an agave. My bud in Fort Lauderdale has one out front and it is soooooo cool looking!
