The Washy has some root damage,it is planted to high and they are exposed.

I need to raise the soil level and fix the leaky gutter that kept the soil aroud it
(possibly)to moist-and the high planting....I could see some dead roots on it.


Another factor may be that the bigger one is Robusta(or mostly)and the other
is more Filifera-ish and this added to the intolerance of moisture-

Will get it sorted and growing by seasons end......

Wonder if just placing a bunch of mulch around the filifera's high roots would help.
Didn't know W.filifera were less tolerant of extra moisture.

They're both beauties ...

I would not use mulch as it will keep the soil to moist-I
am going to add some soil(maybe crushed limestone) to raise it up a little-some day

I can never get enough of the Castors...they are monsters!

How is it fair that you get 2 rounds of blooms on your cacti? Mine have just finished their first round (well the Echinocereus anyway)...
