<a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... -12049.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... -12049.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Now the damage from the 5F(airport)12-15F 2-3" snow event in early March...........

Partial pull(half leaf) of largest Waggie-over all it is healthy and pushing the damage out.

<a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... -12031.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... -12031.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... -12032.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... -12032.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Very minor damage to Fortunei-more of a discoloring than damage.

<a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... -12033.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... -12033.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Samaller Fortunei-similar damage to Waggie-

I think this illustrates the various hardiness levels in regard to palm size.

<a href="http://s297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... -12038.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm22 ... -12038.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Jim, wow.

You decided not to cut the B.eriospatha?

That bamboo will be coming up in your basement soon

I've got Garry's T.princeps too, about the same age as yours, sure grow slowly.

The Washies and Waggies are spectacular!

I've got the same kind of "discoloration" on my W.filifera, what caused that? cold or moisture? or both?

Your Trachy looks ready to shoot inflorescences soon.

Great you've got so many Takil seeds going! :D

Love the Sequoia closeup.

I would hate to be the plant the Bamboo comes up under, like having your butt peppered in a helicopter!!

The Washys were over wintered not the Ensete-it just should not be out there yet and is probably getting a cover the next few nights!

Barb

There is no reason to trunk cut a palm with healthy leaves.
It is lifting a spear out so,the chances of further rot should be over but man, what a recovery....
It had about 4-5" of core you could see into and pulled pretty bad(socket pull)just a few weeks ago!

Kinda to bad-it was really taking off last year-so that didn't/doesn't hurt!

Man. Everything looks so good!

Does your Gymnocalycium get protection? I've had 0 luck with those.

Hope the T-ferns come back, I love that you are (were?) growing those in Iowa!

Jim, did you use any form of heat to over winter your Washy's? (christmas lights or heat tape?)

It's one of your ball type cacti, it's a South American genus. Probably around pic # 8.

Yea,I can't wait until the biggest one recovers....it really had a nice shape/size to it before it pulled!

Very cool that the newly planted one has taken off since it was planted in late Feb(I think).

These will sometime s-pull if planted in to cold/wet of soil.

Paul
Gymnocalycium bruchii

The chin cactus...got it!
