I was in Sarasota Florida last week and stumbled across these beautiful Bismarkia's
Image

I noticed that the trees had seeds on them and found a couple on the ground one was large similar to a tiny coconut and the other was the nut inside the husk. Does anyone here have any experience with germinating these?

Thanks
Phil

I Have read where they are VERY easy to germinate.
How about you send me 2-3 of them and I will tell you :P

They are very fast germinating seeds.I am still waiting to see the sprouts after almost 2 months planted in 1 gal pots. I have read they can take up to 90 days or more to sprout. I think they may need deeper slimmer pots to be happier with the tap root going further down to trigger sprouting. I have another 20 germinating and will try the deeper pots next. I will update my experience with them.

Tried once with these and had no luck. The problem may have been with how I was trying to germinate them, going to try again with a heating pad and see if that helps.

Yours look great and nice color too!

They will germinate faster with heat. They take up to 3 months to sprout ;some longer. Heat is the key even after germination warm soil temps will trigger sprouting IMHO.
