Look at this "new" (newly-listed by PDN) Agave americana "mediopicta alba".

What a beauty! :? :compress:

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

20 bucks for the plant in the picture?
if it's that size, it's a good price.

Out of Florida, so it'll be cold hardy.

I think I remember seeing that in your pics. How did it fair this summer?

It did great and along with the larger A.Americana may have survived 14F this fall
They should really take off again next year.

Thanks for asking

Nice pic!

I think one of the most under-appreciated agaves is A. macroculmis! It's large, rather shade-tolerant, and the hardier cultivars are good to a zone 7a!

Its a great plant-

Last year I learned to trim it before I dig it up!

Next year the leaves should be over 4' long,
in a typical season(once planted)it puts out around 15 leaves.

Heres a baby pic of it planted( top dressed in 1/2" pea gravel) where my biggest Washy is now.

Amazing growth in only 3 years, Jim.
The color is outstanding.

If you wear some arm protection you wont have to cut the leaves

Sure there is....wrap it in a moving blanket, wear heavy coat, snowmobile gloves, four-foot long scarf around neck/chin, hockey helmet w. visor.

Same as me repotting a five-foot tall cactus.
