Madrid Botanical Garden

Here is my vicarious vacation. My youngest son is with my parents in Madrid right now. They went to the botanical garden today, and my son took these snapshots with his iPod.
The palms look pretty nice. It is hard for me to wrap my head around the idea that Madrid is north of me, at a much higher elevation, and nearly as far from the sea. Yet CIDP and many other palms look great.

What a fortunate young lad! :D

Love the palm garden! Beautifully done.
Nice job of pruning the CIDP too.

Thanks!

He sent me this snapshot today. I'm not sure where in Spain it was taken.

He is back now. I went through all his photos. Most are of castles and things a boy would like, but I found this potted Washy in there.

I like them, too, but I'd have to move to Texas to grow 'em in the ground like they do in Spain (to the north of me!).
