Musa Basjoo flower?

Post by ryan » Fri Apr 21, 2006 8:20 am

So I purchased a Musa Basjoo a few days ago from a nursery and it is growing really fast. I am giving it lots of sun and 30-10-10 fertilizer. It already has eight leaves and the ninth is coming up quick. I have read that the Basjoo will produce fruit and flower when it has 36 leaves. Is there a possiblity if that my Basjoo may flower this year? It is in a 5 gallon container so it has a large root ball.

Basjoos usually flower in about 3 to 4 years from a pup. :)

just order one from a mail order nursery. There are no shortage of them in the States.
