(Note: not a serious thread) Wisconsin palm trees

Post by TerdalFarm » Wed Mar 02, 2011 7:35 am

This YouTube clip is making the rounds today. Fox news was discussing protests in Wisconsin and clearly made a video editing error and used a clip from some place with palm trees instead. It is blurry. I think I see Phoenix sp. and Washy robusta.
If you are seriously bored, pause this short (<1 min. ) clip at about 25 seconds and share your opinion on these "Wisconsin palm trees" species ids.

Erik- I recall Stewart pointing out another 'error' in Fox "News" reporting of protests. I mean how difficult is it to get proper footage?

Ung.. bill Oriley..... LOL Thats whats wrong with that video LOL

THat looks more like california to me. The strets lined with those palms remind me of the washys along the streets of LA.

If any of you watch the simpsons, it reminds me of the episode where kent brockman was trying to get footage of something, but kept getting a calf being fed a bottle LOL

I don't have cable/sat TV so I don't know who the anchor is.
So, far, I have one person saying they are Washies, but another opinion that they are Phoenix, implying Egypt/North Africa.
Either way, not Wisconsin, darn it.

Saw what could've been at least one Phoenix, balance Washies on that shaky fast video.

I found this on the blog:

"The footage, and the ENTIRE FOX piece Is about union affiliates who are flown around the country to "organize" other local chapters in support of the WISCONSIN affair. This was filmed in SACRAMENTO CALIFORNIA (you know...where palm trees grow). The union thugs shown are WISCONSIN TEAMSTERS (look at the jackets dumbo). "Baldie" was sited for battery in California before he boarded his flight and returned to WISCONSIN with his tail between his legs."
