Experiences with Nitrozyme?

I've been reading pages on a couple of websites that say a solution called Nitrozyme can improve palm seed germination/growth rates. Does anyone have any experience with it? I've got a few thousand seeds to germinate, and some of them are normally pretty slow (ie Jubaea chilensis), so hopefully this can help speed things up! Out of the 10 or so websites that I checked, only 1 will ship to Canada! http://www.divinecactus.com/product_inf ... cts_id=701

44% increase in germination...wow, that'd sure help with palm seeds.
"from sea plants" maybe a concentrated kelp? maybe a B vitamin like superthrive?

I've only ever heard of GA, but never used it.

A few thousand seeds, Cameron?
Can't wait to hear how (and what) you're doing :D

You can also try Giberralic acid 3, if you can get your hands on some. Problem would be getting the concentration correct as too much can cause deformed growth.

Never heard of or used Nitrozyme. Maybe it has giberalic acid in it (or some other ABA inhibitor?).

Thanks for the advice Barb and Paul! Barb, I saw that you started posting on PalmTalk now as well, I'll have to make an account one of these days! I read that one of the ingredients in Nitrozyme is kelp from the Norwegian coast. I'll post pics of what I'm doing here within a few weeks, once everything's set up!

I continue to hit a wall with how to properly prune my Bottle Palm base.

Will look forward to learning what species you're germinating and where.
Or did you get a nice GH from Santa?

Well, at least you inspired another topic on that board!

The Nitrozyme should be here in about a week or so, so in a couple months I'll know if it had an effect on germination :D

All those folks' bottle palms look so beautiful.
Mine has such ragged edges from the hacking I thought I could "fix it up", but it's like petrified wood, won't budge.
Short of using my finger as a cutting board :?

Can't wait to see your photos of your germination boxes/flats, and what you're growing. :D

Presume you're going to use Nitrozyme after seeds are in their trays?
Thought you'd already started.

It'll be interesting to see your results with that.
Wonder how it compares with GA?
