A bit of sun and these Echeveria sp. always start growing in the cold building.

Thanks Jim.
They're so closely related to Dudleya http://www.succulent-plant.com/families ... dleya.html that ID is often difficult.
I like their spectacular and unusual flowers, held erect on tall stems.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

nice Barb! How hardy are those Dudleyas? I think they can take some cold.

I've never exposed them to freezing but they've come close with no damage while already outdoors in pots end-March.
They don't take hot dry desert sun/wind well, morning sun is all they get here as they need some humidity.
I think Lithops and Stonecrop belong to Dudleya sp too.
Have never kept either of those alive for long.
Think they're supposed to be planted at an angle so no water ever sits on a leaf axis
