Grandmas yard

Post by canadianplant » Fri Aug 27, 2010 12:43 pm

Every year, my grandma goes on a trip for a few weeks, so I come over, watch her cats and take care of her garden and pond. ITs mostly a rose garden, with some clematis, and more of a typical garden. Although, she has a small almost shrub, which has been there for 3 years......... Its only one branch now.... but very much alive...

As for her pond, the thing is roughly 10 000 gallons, and 7 feet at its deepest, with a few shelves on the way up to stager the depth. Theres also a shallower part, thats about, 3 feet deep. In not sure now long it is, but a guess is 20 feet ( under guessing here) Shes got nymphana (sp), and a few other things growing in there... not to mention about 20 Koi..... THis is just her back yard...

And yes, even in my zone 4 or 5 area, they stay in the pond all year......

Have you ever tried using Photobucket or Webshots?

You can post the pics directly so we can see them.

How deep is the Koi pond?

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

That is one of the most beautiful ponds I've ever seen.
Great size, great plants, great features and ornaments, great bridge, etc. etc.

And those Koi!!!! Have never seen so many colours in Koi.
Absolutely beautiful.

...now don't forget to feed them
