Need some advice on fertilizer for cycads. Which to use? What are your experiences? And what works best?

I know for a fact, Cycas revoluta its a scavenger for nutrients, so it doesn't require much fertilizing. I would say, a good fertilizer high in nitrogen every sping would suit C. revoluta just fine. Phosphorus would also be a great element to give to your Sago once a year.

I'm just learning about this, and have found out that each type is an individual in regards to fertilization. They are usally "at rest" so you have to shock them into producing new "flushes" of leaves. Cycas tautigensis(spelled wrong), can produce 4 new flushes of leaves a year making it a very fast grower. There is a cycad grower that has done alot of research on this, and he sells something called 'Cycad special', you'll probally find it if you do a google search. He also lists another easy to find fertilizer that works just as good.

Have a couple of cycads outside and several small ones inside.
Tried an Aussie pellet fertiliser on Macrozamia Communis but didn't do anything visible.Seem to decide themselves when to push out new fronds mid to late summer.Small Zamia Pumila has nice new frond.
I too would like to hear whether fertilising makes much actual difference.

I guess it won't work on zamias, but it does on others.

I noticed my cycas revoluta pushed out new fronds at the end of summer. I didn't really fertilize it much. Maybe i'll try to fertilize it more this year.
