July 10th Picture Update

Post by wxman »

Haven't updated in awhile, so I thought I'd share pics with you guys.

2008 planted trachycarpus fortunei growing fast! Spear moving inches per day!

2010 planted trachycarpus fortunei already growing. Love this palm.

Banana circle. Musa orinoco and siam ruby.

<img src="http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y255/w ... G_2503.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket">

Banana and EE bed. Ensete maurelii, musa basjoo, and EE black magic. I wonder how big the basjoo and ensete will get by October 1st? These were all 4 inch tall seedlings in May.

<img src="http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y255/w ... G_2505.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket">

Trachycarpus fortunei's and phoenix sylvestris.

<img src="http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y255/w ... G_2504.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket">

Same on the other corner.

Yard overview.

<img src="http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y255/w ... G_2508.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket">

Can't wait to see final growth, but it's bittersweet because I don't want it over either!

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Looking great Tim!

It looks like your nanas are already ahead of last year at this time. Isn't it fun to watch established trachys grow! They are my favorite palm for sure, there so forgiving too.

Keep us updated.

Jim -

I can't wait for the ensete to get huge. I love how they look!

Bill -

Here is a picture of my orinoco from 7/23/09 (so about 2 weeks later in the season than we are now).

Here's the trachy in the first pic from end of June last year.

Thanks for the comments.

Palms will get heated huts and the bananas will get stored bare root in the basement.
