15 gallon trachy all planted. It's over 7 feet tall to the frond tip.

Nice!
It will change it's shape in time and get more compact,I bought one a few years back from Ryan,
to some degree they are shade grown-that's why it will grow more compact and look like your other one.

Looks like you vacuumed the soil off those white rocks when you were done.

Nice addition Tim.. Might as well go big where we live or it will take a life time to grow that large!! Where did you pick up that sucker??

Yeah, its rootball was only like 6 inches by 6 inches. All the other roots were melted! I think either winter did it in, or rain and 40s this spring. Trachys seem to handle spring wetness easier.

Yeah, I hate dirtying up my white rocks! LOL. Hope this sucker starts growing fast.

It's a good(but painful lesson
)at least if you decide
to try one again you'll be armed with new knowledge.
I think were you had it was the best spot to try a Washy.
Maybe if you have another good micro-climate you'll try again?-can't beat that black rock wall though.
BTW-did you keep it?
Is it potted up?

I tossed the washy. It wasn't worth saving.
