OPEC wants compensation if oil "needs" drop

Post by lucky1 » Wed Jan 06, 2010 9:38 am

This link is already 9 years old  but apparently "compensation" for oil producers as demand decreases is still on the table!

http://www.nytimes.com/2000/09/16/world ... sales.html

Guess they consider themselves part of "third world" countries when North America and the EU are writing cheques.

Stoooooopid. Crazy. Moronic. Lawyers now running the world?

If we have to cut those b******s a cheque, I'm gonna stop paying taxes.

Gives whole new meaning to "crazy world".

Hey, can Oklahoma get a cut, too? May paycheck depends on oil and natural gas revenue!

We would be better off without OPEC.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Definitely, but I don't see what can be done, other than to stop using their product. That'll show 'em.
As to the Saudi claim, they know it won't happen. IMHO, they are cynically trying to stall, and to stir up Iran, Venezuela & Sudan.

"Crude Impact" was just shown on TV....glad I caught it. Anybody else?

You can view the trailer here, but the entire show is so much better than just a piece of it. http://www.crudeimpact.com/show.asp?content_id=9665.

Focused frequently on 2006...soldiers dying, government lies (from all parties), payouts/handouts, corruption, extortion, military presence, murder, foreign puppet politicians, pools of carcinogenic by-products dumped on the ground in Ecuador, Nigeria (by Shell and Texaco etc.), starving diseased villagers on poisoned water and contaminated land, etc.

The real clincher was one point alone: Would any army be protecting the Saudi Royal Family if they exported Carrots?

What really got my goat was the top 3 oil companies made BILLIONS OF $ profit in EVERY quarter AND STILL GOT subsidies worth BILLIONS from government.
Taxdollars!

Barb

PS--naturally, PetroCan's oilsands in Alberta--using 3 gallons of oil to PRODUCE 1 gallon of oil from the tarsands--is about as stupid as it gets.
