Some Humour

Post by Jay-Admin »

Here's a funny joke from the nz palmcycad-dicussion group.

Now don't get me wrong i love trachys but i thought this was funny. :D

Here it is:

A group of Trachycarpus and one lone Phoenix palm get chopped down
for fire wood. They all go to Palm Heaven and because of the grief
they have experienced, the palm God decides to grant them one wish
each. The Trachys all scramble to line up for their wish and push the
poor Phoenix palm to the very end of the line. God asks the first
Trachy in line what the wish is. "I want to be gorgeous" it says, and
so God snaps his fingers and it is done. The second Trachy in line
hears this and says "I want to be gorgeous too". Another snap of
God's fingers and the wish is granted.

This goes on for a while but when God is halfway down the line, the
Phoenix palm at the end of the line starts laughing its head off.
Finally, God reaches the Phoenix palm and asks what its wish will be.
The Phoenix calms down and says: "Make 'em all ugly again".

Chased away

Post by Barrie »

About 10 years ago, a fellow enthusiast was in the first few years of his new exotics nursery business. He approached the owner of a local nursery in hopes of selling him some "hardy banana plants". The owner became quite upset and told him "you can't grow bananas here!", and sent him packing with all of his basjoo bananas. :?

That very same nursery now sells the basjoo banana.

Cheers, Barrie.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.
