Hello new to this board and a new fascination with palms in colder climates
I live in Zone 7a
I planted a 2.5 foot Pindo by my hot tub. It is protected by bamboo on one side, the hot tub, and deck/house on the other. What type of winter protection do I need to unsure it's survival and where do you purchase? What type of fertilizer should I buy, do I put it on in the spring time?
I also planted three palms at my mom's house by the coast that I will be in charge of. A windmill, pindo and saw palmetto. It tends be more much more milder at her house, she has had rosemary survive all winter outside, so I'm am not very concerned about hers, but I'm a half an hour in land.
Thanks for your comments
New to the board and I have 4 new palms to take care of.

Welcome aboard!
The climate in N.J., even away from the coast, should be good for Sabal minor and Rhapidophyllum hystrix, with little to no damage (you should really look into Sabal 'birmingham' too). From what I recall pindos will need 1-1.5 zones of protection, something like a wrap with lights or a mini-greenhouse (for the few cold events you get that will damage the palm) will work well.
I would look up Joe K. from Triple Oaks nursery. He has been testing palms in Franklinville for quite a while, has Trachys in ground (unprotected) and I'm sure has or has tried Butia... http://www.tripleoaks.com/
Good luck.
