I've seen these palms before, but can't remember what they're called.

It's desperately in need of repotting, many exposed roots on the surface.
Just had to buy it. :)

Butia capitata ~ Pindo palm.

I have a decent sized specimen in my front garden.

We call them weeds here :lol: Nice one Barb. I'll have to get some pics this weekend for you. Squirrels bury the seeds everywherer & next thing you know they are popping up everywhere you don't want them.

Barrie did yours recover from last winter ok ?

Just goes to show, Todd, that if you add a few zeros to the price tag, it's no longer a weed :lol: :lol: :lol:

It had a spear pull in the spring of '07 from the that preceeding winter. It's recovered at amazing speed and there's hardly any evidence of the incident.

I stepped out and took this pic of my Butia capitata. As you can see it's no worse for wear after the spear pull.
