Photos below of two 34 month old Sabal Louisianas potted in the same soil mix in a three gallon container, watered/fertilized the same, and placed next to each other as they grew. On the left, a fine specimen from an ancient twenty foot trunking Sabal Louisiana. On the right, a soaring(already 38 inches tall!)specimen from Amazinggardens seed source.

Great photos there Steve :D Personally I like the one on the left if I had to choose one over the other. How tough / hardy do you reckon these are?

Cheers, Barrie.

The parent plant of the one on the right has been hardy to -3 F. Some of it's siblings have been growing in zone 6b undamaged!

Beautiful Sabals.S.louisiana has become one of my favorite sabals, all three of the small ones I bought this year started growing as soon as they hit the ground,if I can bring these through the winter(with protection) they should look that nice by next year
