Palm Pots -- why don't BC nurseries stock them?

Have been looking for tall and deep pots of several sizes.
All I've found were the black plastic pots.

Hey Barb,

You might have to mail order them. I bought some on the internet.

I think black plastic pots heat up too much and create unnatural temp at the root zone.
There are some palms that I don't want in the ground...just an accent on the patio.
Lots of extra watering.

Will look on the internet.
Thanks.

Barb

Spray paint made for plastics will make any color pot you want and they're cheap. Clean the plastic good and hang it from the bottom hole with a piece of wire, I use a metal clothes hanger. I just got some crackled copper spray paint for a 30 gal. tree pot and it looks pretty good. Add a water tray and your set.

BTW, ask a local landscaper if you can have their disgarded pots. Most do not keep them and just throw them out.

Craig is right, paint them. Best place I have found for them is here http://www.stuewe.com/products/treepots.html

Excellent idea to spray paint pots.
I bet that copper color looks great.

Interesting link on pots...one of those tall pots--at first glance--looked like a length of downspout (giving me an idea!)

Over the years I accumulated about 120 to 130 one-gallon plastic pots.
Traded them at a nursery for more plants. Win-win.
