Back from Vegas w/ seeds of these..

Post by Kansas » Tue Aug 28, 2007 7:20 pm

Well I snuck around the beautiful grounds at night and was able to pick a bunch of seeds. Problem is, I have no idea what they were of. I took pics of them, but both looked like some form of Trachy, but one had many trunks that am not sure, but I think were from one seed. Here are the pics. PLEASE ID if you can....

Not a good pic of the trunks, but hopefully you can tell.

Never mind that fat meat breasted zilch in the picture, just look at the palm tree and tell me what it is!!!

I am probably wrong but the second pic of the palms with that big burly dude might be Mediterranean Fan Palms. When I was in Vegas last May there were seeds all over those palms. Too bad I didn't grab any. :(

Regards,
Jay

That was my first day in Vegas. After that day I learned NOT to wear blue or black, only white

Those are chamaerops Humilis, med fan palm
There are a ton of them in Vegas.
I too have picked up numerous med fan palm seeds from Vegas.
High germination rate and they are growing quickly.

100% agree, Med fan. I brought back alot of seeds and had at least a 95% success rate.
