I had 10 plants planted last summer. Southwestern Idaho zone 6 (i think.) After not protecting them at all last winter I had three come back. Ive learned the importance of mulching, but also the hardiness of these Bananas. This ones my baby.

I will take much better care this fall and am sure that I will get more and more from now on out. I can't wait till this whole area fills in with them.

What is the ID on the banana in the first pic. Nice striping in the leaves!

Cheers, Barrie.

Sad thing about that. I can't find my paperwork from when I bought it. I dont know! I wish I did cuz i want to buy a few more of them. They seem to do better in my climate here then the Basjoos do.

It looks like Musa Sikkimensis "Red Tiger" - I had one but it died from water stress.
