BRRRR! deep freeze

Although the deep freeze has hit the southern states spare a thought for the Egyptians who experienced their first snow ever in Cairo. I was quite surprised to see the Island of Cyprus showing a minimum of 1C in Nicosia http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/12 ... d%3D230264
Still quite mild here in the UK.

Andy, yes, the weather channel showed pics of kids/dogs frolicking in the snow in Bethlehem.

Yup, nice and mild here after a horrible November/early Dec.
Now back East is getting hit.

Loving it now: got up to 60 oF (16 oC) this afternoon; snow gone, ice melting off of ponds and creeks. Should be at or above freezing all week, with highs up to 65 oF (18 oC)! Will set some smaller/lighter potted palms out for a bit of low winter sun.

Hit 70 oF today!

Small potted palms outdoors, with forecast low a mild 32 oF.
Took blanket off my outdoor horse.

In my dreams, yeah, winter done before it starts.
