Erik -

This plant would love the early morning sun and heat during the day/night if it's massive leaves are not taxed to much-

so an east exposure it is,this would really be best almost anywhere with strong sun or heat, esp dry heat.

I totally agree, your hot sun will toast it up! East would be your best bet for sure if you can muster a spot. The leaves might even get bigger looking for the sun too :D

Was it raining? Maybe they needed an umbrella. Or a house!
Time for you to get a dog!

This leaf was cut, luckily the flower stalk inside it was just missed.

With the bad moods I can get into in summer heat,I hate to think of what would happen
to the person who did this if I caught them.

Jim,
I saw the the photo of the Thai Giant which is amazingly big. very funny stuff.

WTF Jim???
What a dirt bag, I can't believe someone would walk into your yard and hack off a leaf

Looks like it's time to set some traps

It will grow back that really sucks though!

People can be ignorant of other peoples plants. My boss had 2 big doubel peony. She lives on a fairly busy street. She woke up one moring to find that osme one smashed her 2 planters, and cut down all of her peony...... Im lucky enough not to hav that happen yet :S...

Dont forget the bear traps... or, some hog weed

All I can add is that goats leave Colocassia alone. So, goats 1, humans 0 on this one. --Erik

The bloom stalk is starting to come up and a new leaf so all is well but it has looked better.

When you get that bloom stalk, we'd like another photo.
Not to be a pest, but I'd like to see Brugmansia and Gunnera when you have a chance....

Brugs were cut down for the sake of the Siam Ruby and the Gunnera is pretty weak right now but......

is making a nice recovery thanks to the shade of the monster bananas.

I will post a pic when they are worthy of a picture.
